Tyre

A ratchet strap made it easy to get a tire on the rim. These tires are 500/50R17 or same size non radial one. The strap keeps the tire in place and presses it gently into the narrower center of the rim giving space to the other side. I have a kind of tire bar on the pic, but the next tire I pressed in place using my knee only.

Tyre

It's also possible to press the tire off the rim using a strap and a short piece of board. This is a bit unstabile system and I know there are better ways to do it. Anyway this is safe for the rim. The strap is light and usually available and has a surprising amount of power. You can always use several straps.

Tyre

Here a little narrower and stiffer tire. I'm giving initial compression with a strap and plank. Then using some hammer and bar made the tyre flank to separate from the rim.

Lävistys

Here I'm punching holes to a 0,5mm thick tin plate. I've two flats of hard steel with holes on the same spots. I'm placing the tin plate inbetween and press the flats together with bolts. The puncher is a broken bolt that is tight to the hole. Then I hammer the bolt slightly to punch a hole.

Lävistys

Got nice holes fast even near the edge. Boring those would be more difficult and would need some tidying afterwards.

Viljaputki

I'm making a grain pipe using truck tines as an anvil. I've a stopper fastened to the other tine to keep the pipe in place when I'm hammering a flange to the other end. The stopper helps a lot. If a longer pipe is needed, I could have a longer balk and press it against the floor with the tines. Then I could nail a stopper to the balk.

Viljaputki

The stopper plank is attached with U-bolts.

Viljaputki

I'm hammering and simultaneously rotating the pipe with my free hand. Tin is stretching and making a flange where the sharp edge of the tine is.

Viljaputki

This became very nice, because there were so many weld spots. With less welds the flange is less good looking, but anyway the junction won't leak.

Astiat

Here I'm preparing for seeding at spring and I've seeds in big bags. Some of it will be left over and would be convenient to store it for the next year. However the rodents tend to break the bags and also shit and carry all kind of nest material inside them spoiling the seeds. So I made some "bombshelters" out of old fuel tanks, that keep the rodents outside. I can drop the seeds in as such or in the bags, if bag isn't very large or full. Also stored empty bags in these. As a cover I've used some board and weights.

Tunkki

An "asshole" for the bottle jack, made of water pump cylinder and fastened with U-profiles. Now I can insert a post of apropriate lenght to get a higher jack. The hole is 80mm.

Tunkki

Here using about ten feet/3m long post as an extension for the bottle jack. The posts have taken the stress without breaking.
